Coffee shops with chess 4

A coffee shop is a natural home for chess in Jakarta, and a handful of them appear again and again on the tournament listings. Kopi In Town, on the fourth floor of Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua, is the busiest: Speed Management, the Kelapa Gading club and Chess Mania have all played there, and the Pasar Pagi Mangga Dua International Chess Tournament of January 2025 was FIDE-rated.

Kamau Coffee has hosted events of the Kelapa Gading club and a duel match of the MAQNA group. In East Jakarta, Tower 81 on Jalan Masjid Albariyah hosted Speed Management’s homecoming tournament, and Kedai Kopi Arih Ersada held a cup of the Mamre group and a tournament under its own name. None of these pages states opening hours or whether a visitor can join a casual game.
